Who We Are
Steriflex is a newly established company dedicated to the safe and effective sterilization of delicate medical devices such as Endoscopes. We are the sole Australian distributor for the Andersen EOGAS series Flexible Chamber Technology (FCT) Sterilizers.
EO (Ethylene Oxide) Gas is the only sterilisation modality that can cater for the sterilization of the widest range of Endoscopes available today.
EO Gas not only offers the highest level of sterility for Endoscopes but does so with negligible wear and tear to the instruments (unlike alternative methods of sterilization which are very aggressive and highly corrosive).
Andersen’s FCT (Flexible Chamber Technology) allows the EOGas Series Sterilizer to effectively Sterilize a load by using only 17.6 Grams of EO making the system extremely safe to use.

Ennio Matutini
Business Development Manager
Ennio has been involved in the field of Endoscopy for over 41 years.
​
He started his journey as a Technician for Olympus in 1979 and after 10 years moved to Sales and Marketing, Managing the Victorian Sales team for a period of 5 years. Finally taking up the position of Business Development Manager.
During his last 6 years at Olympus, his focus was to introduce Endoscopic Ultrasound to the Australian Market and promote Olympus’s Surgical range of products in the Urological and Gynaecological sectors.

In April 2000 Ennio turned his attention to R&D taking up a position with Optiscan developing Endoscopic Confocal Microscopy. During this time, he collaborated with the Pentax Medical division to develop and test, purpose-built Video Endoscope with Confocal Microscopy capabilities.
Much of these activities took place in Tokyo within Pentax’s R&D Labs.

In April 2004 Ennio began a new chapter and moved away from the Medical sector and into the Veterinary market and Austvet Endoscopy was born. Over the last 16+ years, Austvet Endoscopy has grown to become the leading Veterinary Endoscopic supplier in Australia and New Zealand.
Ennio is still heavily involved in the running of Austvet Endoscopy today as the company’s Business Development Manager.

The next challenge for Ennio is the reprocessing of Flexible Endoscopes in the medical sector and given that the Authorities are in the process of rewriting the requirements, this is the right time to get involved and make a difference.
Steriflex is heavily focused on providing the best possible solution to the reprocessing of Flexible Endoscopy.
Maria Matutini
Sales Manager
As a qualified registered nurse since 1986, Maria trained and worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Monash Medical Centre specialising in endoscopy.
Maria joined the Endoscopy sales team at Olympus Australia in 1989.
In the early 90’s there were significant technical advances in Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Surgery with the birth of Video Endoscopy, Ultrasound Endoscopy and Key Hole Surgery.
Maria was blessed to be involved in such advancements in surgery and state of the art medical equipment while at Olympus and helped grow the business as these procedures and applications grew as well as following new reforms and standards in cleaning and sterilisation of this equipment.
After leaving Olympus in 2000 ( and marrying Ennio) they both embarked on another adventure at Optiscan P/L to work on the Research and Development and Marketing of a Confocal Endo-Microscope.
The Confocal Endo-Microscope is capable of producing real-time microscopic imaging of mucosa at 1000 times magnification while simultaneously producing real-time macroscopic imaging.
This very specialized Endoscope is employed for early detection of cancers, investigating cellular details and determining margins in areas like the gastrointestinal tract, brain and cervix.
Setting up Austvet Endoscopy in 2004, Maria (and Ennio) used all their previous wealth of endoscopic experience and knowledge to start promoting, selling and servicing new and refurbished endoscopic equipment in the Veterinary field.
Over the last 20 years, Austvet Endoscopy has greatly assisted the Veterinary profession in advancing minimally invasive Endoscopic procedures.
Austvet Endoscopy is the very proud, Exclusive Australian distributor of Olympus Endoscopic products in the Veterinary field as well as the Exclusive distributor of Andersen EO Sterilisers.
Maria has been heavily involved with the successful Marketing, Sales and Installation of many EO machines in the veterinary field and looks forward to the same challenge With Steriflex in the Medical field.
